Meet Dr. Antonio Ruiz Ezquerro

Dr. Antonio Ruiz Ezquerro is a dedicated leadership educator and innovative game designer originally from Mexico City, now residing in New York. His research focus on leadership, pedagogical development, leadership in games, and student development theory. Antonio currently serves as an adjunct professor at Florida State University’s Leadership Learning Research Center. He is an instructor for the Undergraduate Leadership Certificate in Leadership Studies, allowing him to teach several courses, such as Leadership Theory, Leadership and Change, and Contemporary Issues in Leadership. Antonio also teaches university courses on game design.

Antonio has made significant contributions to leadership research, particularly in leadership pedagogy, game design, and the application of leadership principles in role-playing games. He is recognized for his exceptional communication skills and his ability to foresee and tackle challenges. Antonio’s diverse life experiences and cultural background empower him to unify teams and drive them toward achieving impactful results.

In 2024, Antonio completed his Ph.D. in Higher Education from Florida State University along with a graduate certificate in college teaching and another in institutional research. In 2020, Antonio completed his M.S. in Higher Education from Florida State University. During this time, he also served as the Substance Abuse Prevention Graduate Assistant for the Health and Wellness Center and an advisor for the student organization, Healthy Noles. In 2017, he obtained his Marketing BBA with a Nonprofit Studies Minor from James Madison University. In his spare time, Antonio enjoys game nights, spending time outdoors with his partner and dogs, playing guitar, video games, and rock climbing.
